The Tommy Fund at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital will conduct a radiothon on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6, to raise resources and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer.
The second annual Tommy Fund radiothon will be broadcast live on WLPR 99.1 FM radio from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m on the 5th and the morning of the 6th. During those hours, listeners may call 877-87-TOMMY to donate to the fund, which supports children with cancer and their families and works to improve the cure rate of childhood cancer.
The Tommy Fund acts as a helping hand to the pediatrics oncology department at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Through collaborative efforts, they are able to diagnose and provide treatment to children with blood disorders and malignancies and conduct research and teaching in the field of childhood cancer.
Volunteers are still needed to answer telephones, record pledges, tally the funds raised, and serve runners for various tasks. Day and evening volunteer shifts are available. For more information, call 203.688.4081 or 800.974.5559 or email the Tommy Fund at tommyfund@ynhh.org.
We are proud to be a local organization, raising local dollars, for local children.
